Have you ever sent a message that you wish you hadn’t sent? Messages you wished you could take back, I know it has happened to me many times, especially on WhatsApp, because that’s the instant messaging service that I personally use.
That’s why I always thought that WhatsApp should develop and release a feature that allows users to delete sent messages that they regret having sent in the first place.
If you’re a WhatsApp user who has also been waiting for a feature like this to come out, then I have good news for you, deleting sent messages is now possible using the “Delete messages for everyone” option.
What I like about this feature is that it is very easy to use, simply tap and hold the message you want to delete, tap on the “Delete” icon at the top of your screen, and then tap on the “Delete messages for everyone” link.
I know that the previous explanation lacks a little bit of detail, so if you’re confused don’t worry, you are probably not the only one. Below you’ll find a step by step guide that includes pictures and everything so you don’t get lost in the process.
One thing you should also know is that the delete sent messages function will only work for up to 7 minutes after you’ve sent the message, once the seven minutes are up, you won’t be able to delete messages for everyone anymore, only for yourself. Keep that in mind, because WhatsApp made it very clear on their FAQ page.
To delete messages for everyone on WhatsApp follow these steps:

That’s all there is to it, folks. As you can see, deleting sent messages on WhatsApp is super easy, in fact, it’s so simple that anyone can do it.
However, I’m well aware that every once in a while someone will have problems, so if you run into any difficulties while trying to perform this task, just come back to this page and leave us a message so that we can help you out.
