How to Delete Poshmark Account

Should you delete your Poshmark account? If you’ve been on Poshmark for a long time, this question might have come up.

You’ve probably noticed that both Poshmark.com and the Poshmark app have changed a lot over the years. There are some features you’ll miss, but there are also some features that you probably don’t use anymore.

So if you’ve decided to delete Poshmark from your life, here you’ll learn how to do it.

Deleting your account is an easy process, but mind you, it’s not a quick one as it can take up to two weeks to get everything removed. However, and to speed up the process, you can contact Poshmark support to see if they can delete all your data immediately.

Also, if you’re a Poshmark seller who has recently sold items on the website or app, you must first redeem any outstanding sales balance from the site. Why?, you ask. According to a customer service agent that helped me delete my data last year, Poshmark can’t process a deletion if there’s a redeemable balance or pending transactions on a Poshmark account.

I wasn’t selling anything on Poshmark, though. But he explained it to me, anyway.

The company’s customer service department works closely with both sellers and buyers, not only to provide a safe and secure environment to buy and sell a variety of items, but also to help them out with anything they need, even if what they’re trying to do is leave the site for good. Poshmark has a dedicated support team that will help you with any questions or concerns that you may have, so be sure to reach out to them, you’ll be surprised at how far they will go to make their customers happy.

Before moving on, the first thing you need to do is to make sure that you don’t want to use Poshmark in the future, since you can’t delete it if you intend to use it again. If you want to delete your account, but don’t want to lose the items in your virtual closet, you have a couple of options. You can transfer the items to another Poshmark user, maybe a friend who is also selling items on the site, or you can try to sell those items on another marketplace like eBay.

Why would you want to delete your Poshmark account?

There are many reasons why you would want to delete your Poshmark account, including stolen information, moderator removed listings, lack of potential buyers, or maybe you just want to stop being a seller to become a full time Poshmark buyer.

As a Poshmark buyer, you may feel inclined to leave because you can’t find anything you like. Unfortunately, this means that sometimes you’re pretty much forced to buy any random item just for the sake of it, because you simply won’t find anything better.

I don’t know if it’s because of my style, but I didn’t have much success finding things that I would really want to buy on Poshmark. To be fair, I haven’t found anything I like on other sites either. And that’s why I’m usually drawn to checking things out on my Instagram account. Nowadays, most of my fashion purchases are done through Instagram and other social platforms. But that’s a story for another day.

There are drawbacks to leaving Poshmark, of course. You might miss the occasional deals, and you will probably also miss spending countless hours browsing the site’s vast selection of products.

With all of that said, here’s what you need to do.

How to delete Poshmark account?

Just take note that the account deletion process will remove all your personal information from both the Poshmark website and the Poshmark app. This includes credit card and bank account information, purchase and sales history, and any items still hanging on your Poshmark closet.

Here are the steps to delete your account:

On the mobile app

The first thing you need to do is go to your Account Tab (@username). Now scroll down and click on Poshmark Support Center. Then click on Manage Account Status and select “Delete My Account.”

On the web using a desktop or laptop computer

Click on the profile picture on the top right-hand side of your screen. If you don’t see it, click the menu icon and select Account Settings. Now, from the left-hand-side menu, click on Manage Account Status, and then select “Delete My Account.”

What you need to know and do after deleting your account?

What happens after you delete your account? As mentioned above, all your personal information will be deleted. You won’t be able to access the site or app with the email and password that you used to sign up. And finally, you won’t be able to generate extra cash by selling items on Poshmark.

After deleting your account, be sure to delete the app everywhere—on your mobile phone, your tablet, smart TV, or whatever other place you’ve logged into Poshmark over the years.

You should also clear your browser’s history, cookies, and cache to make sure that the deletion process goes through successfully.

Here’s another thing to keep in mind if you’re trying to delete Poshmark from your life. If you do not submit a deletion request, your Poshmark profile will still remain active and will not be officially removed even if the app is deleted from your phone.

Poshmark has grown a lot over the years. Most of us probably forget about its humble beginnings. It has made great strides since then, but if you’re thinking about removing your account, there’s really no reason not to.
