How to Sign Out of Your Amazon Account
To log out of your account follow the steps below. Keep in mind that after signing out of your Amazon.com account you will have to enter your login credentials such as e-mail address and password to access your account once again.
- Open up your browser and go to www.amazon.com.
- Hover over the “Your Account” link at the top right corner of the page to display the account options menu.
- Click on “Not (Your Name)? Sign Out”.
Done!
On Android:
- Open up the Amazon app on your mobile phone or tablet.
- Tap on “Menu”.
- Then select “Your Account”.
- And tap on “Sign Out”.
On iOS (iPhone and iPad):
- Tap the Home button to go to your phone’s home screen.
- Tap “Sign Out” directly from your mobile’s home screen.
- Done!
On a Mobile Browser:
- Go to Amazon.com on your mobile web browser.
- Tap the “Your Account” link at the top right corner of your phone’s screen.
- Tap on “Not (Your Name)? Sign Out”.
I hover over the account but there is no “Not (Your Name)? Sign Out”.to tap!!

I, too, do not have the sign out option. Using desk top computer.
I had that exact same problem…no sign out option on amazon.com when using my phone! It was driving me crazy. When I had a chat session with an Amazon rep she assured me it wasn’t a problem and that if someone tried to place an order without my authorization a prompt would come up where I would have to re-enter my email and password. While still in the chat session I tried placing a small order. I never received that prompt and it was taking me easily through all the check out steps. It had my address, billing info, etc. Right before pressing the “Place Order”, thinking that’s when the prompt would come up, I thought I’d scroll down a bit and finally…there was the “Not (Your Name)? Sign Out” option. Keep in mind, I was having this problem on my phone when I would type in the Amazon website address, not the app. The rep was surprised but at least that got me signed out. I had visions of someone getting my phone, figuring out the password and being able to just type amazon.com and they could have a field day on my account. So if you have the same problem I did, just put in an inexpensive item in your cart and go through all the steps EXEPT pressing that last one where you place the order. Scroll down and you will see the option to sign out. Funny how they have hidden that function.

That seems like a LOT of rig amoral to go through just to log off! Is there a better way?
I hover to YOUR ACCOUNT and was not able to log off. I didn’t purchase anything it does not give me the option to log off

i can not log out of my account on desk top either I really just need to switch users any suggestions
Hi Amanda. Sorry for the late reply. Did you follow all the steps? What error message are you getting?
I was able to log out from my laptop. You have hover over Your Account. A window opens with a long list of options. You have to go all the way to the bottom to click on Sign Out.
To log out from your amazon account on laptop you need to click on orders on the top right of your screen,then you click switch accounts then you will find a option to log out.
