Skype is a service provided by Microsoft that allows you to see, speak, and send instant messages to other people that are already using this amazing software application in order to communicate over the internet through desktop, laptop, mobile, and other devices.
What I really like about this service is that you can use one single Skype account across all your devices and on most platforms as well. For example, Skype for Mobile is a free app available for Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Nokia X, and the Amazon Fire Phone, and it’s also available for bigger handheld devices like tablets such as iPad, Android Tablets, Kindle Fire HD, and the Modern Windows. On the other hand, Skype for Desktop is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. And you can even access the service through popular gaming consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation Vita.
There are now several ways to access a Skype account, you can log in with Facebook, a Microsoft Account, or with a Skype Name. The login process is exactly the same on every device and platform, you simply enter your user credentials, and then you click or tap “Sign in”.
How to Login to your Skype Account
- Go to https://login.skype.com/login.
- Enter your Skype Name or email address in the “Skype Name” box on the left side of the page.
- Type in your password in the “Password” field.
- Click “Sign in”.
How to Sign in to Skype on Mobile
- Download and install the app on your device.
- Go to your phone’s home screen and tap on Skype’s icon to start the app.
- When you start Skype on Android, iOS (iPhone and iPad), Windows Phone, BlackBerry, or any other mobile device for that matter, you will see the new simplified login screen, and the first thing that you will need to do is enter your Skype Name, email address, or mobile number in the first field of the access form.
- Then tap on the arrow to move onto the next step.
- Type in your Skype password.
- And tap “Sign in”.
How to Log into Skype with Facebook
To access your account with Facebook go to the login page by clicking on the link above or open the app on your device, click or tap on the “Sign in with Facebook” link that you’ll see in the center of the screen, sign in to your Facebook account, and click “OK”.
