First off, let me start by saying that I don’t know why companies make simple things such as logging out of their sites hard for users, while the login process is always incredibly easy and straightforward, there must be a reason for that. Not that long ago signing out of your Instagram.com account online was child’s play, now not so much, it’s quite a hassle to be honest.
To find the solution I had to try a lot of different things, basically I had to click on every link and button on the site in order to find the infamous “Log Out” link, which according to their help page it should be located in the top right of any page of Instagram’s website.
I’m sure you all know that Instagram was recently redesigned, they even came up with a new logo, so that probably explains why a lot of things have changed on both the site and the app.
Also, I don’t get why a lot of people search for things like “how do I log in to Instagram online?” or “how do I sign out online?”. Now correct if I’m wrong, but aren’t you always online when using Instagram, even if it’s through the mobile app? If you want to log out of your account follow these steps:
- Open your web browser and navigate to Instagram.com.
- Click on the user icon in the top right.
- Now click on the three dot menu in your profile page, right next to the button that says “Edit Profile”.
- Click “Log Out”.
